Human Personality & Character

I think it is very easy to determine the real personality and character of a human being by simply observing the way he drives a vehicle on the road. many are the times I have encountered people, supposedly considered to be righteous and pure, who have displayed a terrible attitude and disposition on the road when behind a wheel. This morning too was a very good example when a middle aged dude sporting a long white beard and cap simply barged into my lane from a by road without even hesitating to pause and see for any traffic passing by. I was truly amazed to see him smiling behind his wheel insulting his "holy" beard and cap.

It has also been my experience, in Saudi Arabia especially, to see the faithful returning from prayer in the Mosques and then getting behind the wheel and turning into instant Satan's on the road.

What does this really teach us?

Their "holiness" is truly fickle and resides, momentarily, within their warped minds only.

So sad, but true!

The Universe

Watching several clips on Dr Neil deGrasse Tyson, on Youtube, last night I was amazed at the eloquence of this learned Astro Physicist who was able to explain the reality of all creatures on this planet and their relationship to the rest of the Universe in a very simple and understandable manner. Having shared the links with some other close friends, i was even more amazed, when many of them agreed with me on these views, looking at it from a very open and objective mind.

The example of the man walking by the street and seeing a worm crawling on the asphalt by his side was simply astounding.

The worm, probably, never knows or understands who this man is and what he is capable or even incapable of. he simply slithers along his way doing his thing based on his instincts and needs. Does he realize that this man standing next to him has intellect, has landed on the moon, is now probing Mars, Venus and Saturn, has discovered cures for all kinds of incurable diseases that existed before, has created the internet, participates in the Olympics to reach great heights in sports, wages war, destructs, abuses, and creates a kind of mixed chaos and goodness on this planet? Does he care? I dont think so.

Then, along comes the local municipality street cleaner with a hose and sprays the street clean with a heavy gush of water. To the worm it must look, sound and feel like a Tsunami, I guess? he just gets washed away into some gutter and disappears. To the man beside the worm it was just another day in his town where the system takes its course and life moves on regardless.

What if we put man in the shoes of the worm and look at his reaction when a real Tsunami hits the planet? Does he even think that this could have been an outcome of some other cause that was created by another being superior to him? Of course most religious people will attribute it to God. But what are the chances, based on the worm and man example, that the perpetrator could have been another being that had more control than man?

THINK!!!
